Auckland Zoo

On Friday the 4th of April 2014 room 10, 7 and 9 went on a extravaganza trip to the Auckland Zoo to learn about native trees and animals. We travelled by two buses, once we entered the bus we greeted the bus driver. It took about 40 minutes or less to arrive at the Auckland Zoo.

Once we arrived there, we all had to thank the driver and hop off, we lined up into our groups and had to wait for the instructors to arrive to the entry of the zoo. Our group teacher and parent helper were Mrs Atuahiva and Eseki’s uncle Tevita. The instructors names were Laura, John and Richard. Laura talked to us before we entered the zoo about the rules and what we can and what we can’t do.

Our first destination was a little seating place where Laura was talking to us where to go first. Our second destination was the Lizard Place we saw lizards sitting still in the tank on the rock that was in it. The lizard was small and the colour was grayish and a bit of greenish on it. The lizard never moved when we were there, which was sad because I wanted to see them move. :(

Our next destination was called the rainforest we saw the Kauri tree and the Nikau tree and much more well we were walking in the rainforest.

The next destination was visiting the kea, it was massive and it had orange wings. It landed near our class room 10.

After seeing different types of native trees, plants and birds we had lunch in a seating area where the sun was shining beautiful on us, it was very hot. After lunch we had time to ourselves, to go look around the Zoo and see things we never got to see. We went to see the Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, and so much more. We had a lot of fun getting to see animals and learning about different types of animals.

When it came to the end of leaving the Auckland Zoo I felt sad because it was fun and I had a really good time.
