Limericks

There once was a clown that shouted out loud
As she turned around Staring at the crowd
That said “you're dumb go and call your mum”
she cried all day long and  then stared at a cloud
Finally she settled down with a pack of strawberry gum

There once was a man called Jack
who always carried a back pack
with his big hands made a loud clap
that woke up everyone and earned him a hard tap
That foolish man called Jack

Bottle Blowing Experiment

Hypothesis:
The sound of air pitches at different levels when blown into different air spaces.

Materials:
1.Empty Juice bottles of different sizes.
2.Water
3.Air

Procedure:
1. Arrange the empty juice bottles according to sizes from smallest to largest.
2. Blow air into each bottle and listen to the pitch of the sound.
3. Then fill the juice bottles with water to the levels marked on the bottle
4. Blow air into each bottle and listen to the pitch of the sound

Results:
The smallest bottle made a high pitched and the big bottle made a low pitch sound. On each bottle the line to fill the water to was at a different level. I learnt that the smaller the bottle is the louder the pitch  gets and the bigger the bottle the lower the pitch  gets.

Conclusion:

From this experiment I proved my hypothesis correct which was that sound of air pitches at different levels when blown into different air spaces.

The Rock Warriors

Many years ago in the olden days on the Ngongotaha mountain, there were two tribes. It was pretty, and a nice place to be.The leader of the Patupaiarehe used magic to turn the giants of tipua forest  into rocks  because the giants were attacking the Patupaiarehe people. When the leader of the Patupaiarehe used magic to change the giants into rocks the giants couldn’t attack the people of the patupaiarehe anymore. Some people say that on a sunny day or a cold day they can hear the rock warriors moaning all the time because they are fighting over something.

The rock warriors are the people that always moan, twenty four hours every single day, because it’s over something that must be very special to them.

When the patupaiarehe went walking in the forest the giants of tipua saw them and tried to attack them because they were walking through their forest. The giants of tipua are really big and scary but the  patupaiarehe does not care because the leader of the patupaiarehe has a spell that can change them into rocks.

The next day the tipu war party marched through the mamaku forest towards Ngongotaha. The Patupaiarehe people became very scared. They asked their leader to save them with his magic spell to change the giants of tipu into rocks. The giants were so mean and very bad their attitude was not nice at all, they always love to attack the Patupaiarehe people.

Milo,Molenberg and Milk

Today Room 7 went to Pak’nSave to learn about food labels. We took the bus it was warm and cosy and it was fantastic in there. When we arrived at Pak’nSave we had to get into a group of fives and wait for Ainslie the Food for Thought teacher to tell us what section we go to. My group teacher was Ms Anderson. The first section the group went to was the Dairy section. We had to find food that is made with dairy in it like coloured milk, cheese and yogurt. There were so many types of dips, cream cheese and sliced cheeses too.
The next section was to move onto the breakfast and cereals. The cereal that I picked was Nestle Milo. We had to look at the energy from Milo.  It was 490.kJ,sugar was 8.29g,Fat was 1.4g Dietary Fibre was 2.3g and the Sodium was 36.mg. We discovered that Milo is high in sugar. When we finished looking at the breakfast and cereals. The next section was to move on to bread and we had to choose one of them and look at the per 100g.One of each kid in the group gets a turn to get things we need and I was the one that needs to pick the bread I picked Molenberg bread because that's the kind of bread my family gets.

The muesli bar that we picked was Choc Rainbow Bubble Bar.

The muesli bars surprised me because the Dietary Fibre was 0.g.
At the end of our fun and fabulous trip before we went back to school our class got a $60.00 voucher for being really good. Our teacher said we can get healthy food for our lunch at school I wish our class can go back again.

All about Zach Anderson

Mrs Anderson's dog Zach Anderson is 10 years old and he was born in 2002.Today Zach came into our classroom, we got to pat him and take lovely photos of him. Zach likes to walk every single day. His favourite toy is Kathleen, a soft toy that looks like a duck.

Zach's birthday is on the 26 of April. He is a Golden Retriever. His hobby is trying to snatch Archie the cats food. Zach's favourite food is pies and it always has to be steak and cheese. But he only gets pies on his birthdays. In his whole life he has only had 10 pies. Zach is really friendly and has soft fur.He always listens and he always shows respect to others. Zach is a nice dog. I like Zach because he is friendly and he's so cute and awesome.

The fun day at the Polyfest

On Friday morning my family and I went to the Polyfest. My Uncle drove us there. It was a beautiful drive because we saw the beach. It took us 30 minutes to get there. When we got there it was so hot like burning fire. We saw our Cook Island Group there practising  their perfect dance. My Aunty is a tutor for Rutherford College, this College is in Te Atatu North which is out West. If you don't know Rutherford College well now you do.

After a few hours it was time for our group to perform on stage.  The drummer's were the first people to come on stage while the girls were changing.Their performance was so loud when they were banging the drums. About 5 minutes later the girls came on stage and were dancing. Heaps of people were there. When they finished the whole group got changed. Then it was time to eat some fantastic chop soy and have a delicious cold mango juice. We all sat down and ate the food, it was so yummy and delicious.

After we ate we went looking around for lovely colorful lava lavas .It was an awesome day we all enjoyed the fabulous perfomences and the lovely food we had.My Aunty was so proud of the group, how they had performed and showed respect to the audience and also the people who weren’t watching but still supported the group. The drummer’s and the girls were so proud of themself. They all enjoyed performing on stage in front of everyone watching. There was time for the kids to go and have a little play and have a bit of fun. After a few minutes it was time to go, I can’t wait to go back to the Polyfest again.
